We like bearing good news and this is some of the best news imaginable, as Colin Meloy took to his Twitter yesterday to inform the world that keyboardist Jenny Conlee’s cancer treatment has been successful and that her cancer is in remission. Meloy tweeted: “For those of you wondering, saw Jenny this week; our girl’s officially in remission! #teamjenny #beyondchemodome.”
The cancer was caught in the early stages and resulted in Conlee leaving The Decemberists’ tour in the summer. But, it looks like she could be back in action as early as November, taking part as Spin reports that “John, Chris, Jenny, and Nate will be joining forces with Peter Buck and Scott McCaughey to form the King Charles Trio, the backing band for John Wesley Harding‘s upcoming November tour.” Exciting news to see Conlee back in action so quickly.
