The Wall Street Journal via HipHopDX via Prefix points out that in a recent interview, Erykah Badu spilled the beans on some upcoming projects, one of which caught us a little off guard. First, look at the quote:
I’m making an album right now with a guy named Flying Lotus. I’m working on a project with The Gorillaz. I’m always doing something. It doesn’t always make headlines, but I’m always making art – always. I deliver babies. That’s what I do – that’s the art that I’m focusing on right now for the most part. I’m a midwife.
Yeah, we already knew about the Flying Lotus collaboration (see here), but working with Gorillaz either indicates that they are somehow involved in the new Badu album or, hopefully, they are already at work on their next record. More on this as it develops.
