For most people, myself included, our experience with Dan Deacon began with his beloved Spiderman Of The Rings album. So, the announcement that he is rereleasing two earlier albums is sort of like getting two brand-new Dan Deacon albums, and on the same day!
Both Meetle Mice and Silly Hat Vs. Eagle Hat will get release on double vinyl and cassette tape, a far cry from the home-made CD-Rs that originally distributed this music. As Deacon notes, “these albums are like seeds. They sound, look and feel very different from the fruit that they’ve grown but they are still of the same tree.” Sound like they are worth checking out on their September 13th release date (via Carpark). In other Dan Deacon news, the artist will be appearing with Francis Ford Coppola at Comic-Con to promote the film TWIXT, where fans will get a taste of both the visuals and sounds from the collaboration. If you are in the area, check it out.
