With a roster with diverse polar spectrums ranging from Fucked Up to Cat Power, Ceremony presents another a signing of the rocking variety, as they are a hardcore band from the Bay Area with greater aspirations than to just be another hardcore band from the Bay Area. As for what to expect from their Matador debut, well, it is hard to say as it hasn’t even begun to be made, yet.
Ceremony will hit the studio this fall with a planned release on Matador for the first-half of 2012. As the label says, “beyond that, we expect to be as surprised as you (albeit a bit earlier).” Before that, the band has another release for label Bridge 9, a 6-song 12″ EP/CD/digital EP entitled Covers. Songs by Urban Waste (“Public Opinion”), Pixies (“Nimrod’s Son”), Crisis (“Holocaust”), Eddie and the Subtitles (“American Society”), Vile (“5 to 10″) and Wire (“Pink Flag”).
