Early details for Santigold’s sophomore album revealed

It’s been three years since Santigold released her debut album Santogold (which was self-titled at the time, but isn’t quite anymore) and although she has popped up on albums by the likes of N.A.S.A. and David Byrne, a lot of fans just want to see her making her own music again.

Talking to SPIN, it seems that LP2 is more or less finished, and she has brought some big names to join her on it. Both Karen O and Nick Zinner will appear, as well as their friend Dave Sitek of TV on the Radio. These collaborations aside, this is a very personal and truthful record from Santigold, who says that she has “reestablish[ed] a creative confidence” after returning exhausted from a two year tour, and is now feeling “stronger than ever.”

Track names revealed so far include “God From the Machine,” Freak Like Me,” “The Riot’s Gone” and the Zinner-featuring “This Isn’t Our Parade.”

Santigold has also signed a management deal with Roc Nation, which she hopes will be “exciting” and guide her down a “non-traditional path.”

In other news she is also filming a movie with Community star Donald Glover. But for now, the completion of her record is her main focus. Head to SPIN for the full interview.
