With Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi’s Rome scheduled to be released on Tuesday, interview pieces are beginning to pop up around the web. In a talk with NPR, Danger Mouse (real name Brian Burton) dropped a few little tidbits about the project, including the possibility of turning Rome into a movie and the eventual concert experience.
When asked if they would pen a script to turn Rome into a movie, Burton responded that he’d be okay with the idea but didn’t want to do it himself.
“We’re a little battle fatigued. It took five years for this to come out,” Burton said. “If somebody else wants to do this, that’s great.”
It is not hard to imagine some screenwriters jumping at this opportunity. NPR also hinted at a possible live-concert experience, which could include work from Chris Milk, who has already debuted 3 Dreams Of Black, an interactive video for the song “Black.” Burton offered the following: “This is definitely not something we’d want to skimp on live, so it may take a little bit of time. I think that’d be for the better, though. If it were to come out right now, people would just kind of stare. It’ll take its time, but it’ll be worth it if we can pull it off.”
