There are few things that get me as excited as a new album from The Mountain Goats (what can I say, I am a man of simple pleasure). John Darnielle writes music that is as emotionally powerful as anything, weaves melodies as infectious as they are timeless, and crafts lyrics that impress with their unmatched wit and brutal clarity. So when I discovered that NPR has added the entire record, All Eternals Deck, to their First Listen Series, it took me about 45 seconds to start my new-Goats-ritual.
