Mr. Zooey Deschanel and co. will offer their seventh full-length album on May 31st, titled Codes And Keys. The album will reportedly be less guitar-heavy and less sad-heavy. But Ben Gibbard and Chris Walla are still in the band, so don’t let these revelations scare you away.
Zane Lowe also caught up with guitarist Chris Walla recently and did a video interview with him about the new album. Walla explained how working with Alan Moulder (known for his work with My Bloody Valentine) was a dream, talked about the sound of the new album, the lyrical themes and the story behind the album title. He also revealed that the first single will be “You Are A Tourist” but we have no details on the release of that at the moment.
