Apparently it’s a time for reemergences. Following what will amount to nearly 17 years since his last album, former Public Enemy DJ Terminator X is returning with a new record. Judgment Day is set to be a collaboration with Andreaus 13, a longtime friend of X’s.
A representative for X declared to AllHipHop, “Andreaus 13 and Terminator have watched the Music industry corporate executive’s destroy these sacred elements that Hip Hop and Rap were developed on. Just like they destroyed the world’s economy on wall street! Judgment Day is here to counter the chaos and mayhem that the current state of Hip Hop has caused to besiege our community.”
The album surely won’t make as big a splash as they appear to be hoping, but the above words essentially mirror the words each veteran returning to the game are speaking: the older talent is awakening, and with each disgruntled “oldster” that rears their head, the more of an alternative that will be formed. With Public Enemy prepping a record funded by fans and this to boot, there’s plenty to be excited about from the PE corner once again. Somewhere KRS is handing out books and grinning.
