Anie Delgado is gracious to herself on “Without You”

Anie Delgado is a Cuban-American alt-pop artist who now lives in LA. Her new single “Without You” took shape from a cathartic entry in her journal: “I wish I could hate you like I hate me.”

Delgado says, “It was a realization that I give others far more grace than I ever give myself, especially people who hurt me. That thought sat with me. I wanted to explore that struggle for autonomy in my music and from there ‘Without You’ was born.”

On the new single, she enlisted the help of producer Olivier Bassil (Mary J. Blige, Don Toliver). Delgado describes the finished song as “the bridge between a sleepless night of overthinking and the chaotic, feral energy of the night out that follows.”
