The folk supergroup I’m With Her consists of three multi-Grammy winners with deep roots in the folk scene: Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan and Sara Watkins. One of the highlights of their new album Wild And Clear And Blue is “Find My Way To You”, where the group’s acoustic virtuosity is a refreshing vacation from the glitchy Charli XCX-type songs that dominate today’s charts.
The group will soon hit the road on a 52-city tour that includes a May 29 date at London’s Barbican, plus a featured slot at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado.
“So much of this record is about connecting with your past and figuring out what you want for your future, finding yourself and finding the people you love,” says Watkins. “It’s a journey that everybody takes, and this is our way of singing through it.”
I’m With Her’s new music is dedicated to the memory of folk legends Nanci Griffith and John Prine (whose life was cut short in the early days of Covid). The new album will likely produce more Grammy statuettes to add to their crowded mantelpiece.
