Jessica Winter is ready for her close up on “L.O.V.E.”

For a performer who has yet to release a debut album, bespectacled UK artist Jessica Winterโ€™s career is blowing up thanks to her latest single โ€œL.O.V.E.โ€. The song is inventive and whimsical, employing a fab string section and perhaps this yearโ€™s most singable outro.

In the songโ€™s video, Winterโ€™s charisma is on full display as she poses for photos in a style inspired by Mariel Hemingwayโ€™s character in the 1980s cult film Star 80 directed by Bob Fosse.

โ€œI wrote this song a year before realising I was a codependent,โ€ says Winter. โ€œSometimes my music knows more than I do. I wanted to capture the feeling of being infatuated at the beginning of the song, but by the end it inevitably falls deeper and finishes with soaring strings โ€“ the sound of falling in love to me. Spelling out the word sounds so innocent and it is. Iโ€™m just breaking it down to try and understand it.โ€

In addition to her solo projects, Winter has an extensive list of credits as a co-writer and producer, having collaborated with artists like Jazmin Bean and Walt Disco.

โ€œL.O.V.E.โ€ is a Winterโ€™s tale you wonโ€™t want to miss.
