You may well not have heard of Hanna Svirska, but give her a few moments of your time, and you’ll surely be glad you did.
Hailing from Kyiv in the Ukraine, Svirska draws influence from the likes of Holly Herndon, Arca, and Emika, crafting music that’s equally invested in experimentation and emotive downtempo leanings.
Her latest single, “Save Yourself”, is a veritable masterclass in these interests. Following some time toying with the track, it was being placed in lockdown that, as she puts it, “forced” Svirska to finish her solo debut single. Between her soothing, otherworldly voice and the track’s darker music and textures, it seems to flutter and twirl into some unusual, tantalizing nether of clouds.
