Last month Sacred Bones revealed plans to follow up the 2019 reissue of Mother Earth’s Plantasia with reissues of four more albums from analogue synth pioneer Mort Garson.
The new releases feature Garson’s soundtrack for the 1970 experimental film Didn’t You Hear?, the album Black Mass that he released under the name Lucifer, a record called The Unexplained that was put out as Ataraxia, and a compilation of rarities called Music From Patch Cord Productions.
Today Sacred Bones are offering up another teaser of what’s in store on Music From Patch Cord Productions with the release of “Dragonfly”, a song that completely flips the script on what you expect from Garson. An unabashed disco stormer, “Dragonfly” buzzes and bounces with coolness that immediately transports you back to the 70s. Cinematic and filled with analogue wizardry, “Dragonfly” is pure pomp and flair – and completely irresistible.
All four of the new Mort Garson discs are coming out on November 6 through Sacred Bones. You can pre-order Didn’t You Hear? here, Music From Patch Cord Productions here, Black Mass by Lucifer here and The Unexplained by Ataraxia here.
