New Loney Dear album set for October; hear “My Heart” now

Swedish singer-songwriter Emil Svanangen worked pretty tirelessly in the middle of the last decade to self-release four albums in four years under his moniker Loney Dear. That hard work eventually paid off when Sub Pop reissued his third album Loney, Noir and subsequently he was signed to Polyvinyl to release his fifth album Dear John in 2009.

On October 4th Svanagen returns once more as Loney Dear to release Hall Music on Polyvinyl. Between the last album and this Svanagen has toured his home country with an orchestra, which forced him into rearranging and enlarging his older material. This experience seems to have directly fed into the music that makes up Hall Music, as evidenced by the beautiful “My Heart,” which you can download below.

The press release tells is that Hall Music is “a study in merging contrasts, an album of impossible pairings brought to life at the hands of a skillful songwriter further mastering his craft.” If that doesn’t excite you then click away now, however, if you’re a sane person check below for the artwork, tracklist, free download of “My Heart” and a video of Svanagen performing new song “Young Hearts” on piano.
