London-based producer Kwes is more known for his work behind the scenes with the likes of Micachu, Ghostpoet and The xx, as well as his remixes for the likes of Damon Albarn, but in recent times the multi-instrumentalist has started to show off his own musical talents more overtly.
Following a couple of singles and an EP on Young Turks, Kwes has now moved over to Warp to release and EP called Meantime which finds him right on the cutting edge of modern pop music. Kwes calls his music “free-pop” which we’re told is “pop music without limitations or expectations, free to incorporate his equal love of R&B, house, soul, pop and disco.”
The EP comes out on May 1st, but you can get a taste of it below with the amazing “Bashful.” Beneath that is the EP’s cover and track list.
Meantime EP track list:
1. klee.
2. bashful.
3. honey.
4. lgoyh.
