Since Animal Collective toured earlier this year around Coachella, the group has been playing new songs and causing anticipation of a new Animal Collective release. But, Panda Bear’s recent solo release and Avey Tare’s December solo tour seemed to put the band’s plans on hold. But, not for long, says Avey Tare.
In a recent interview supporting his solo tour, Avey Tare told Madison.com (via Pitchfork) “We just finished another two weeks of writing sessions and put together five new songs. We’re really excited about this record … and it’s been really fun jamming with those guys again.”
With January recording planned, it is fairly safe to expect a new Animal Collective record for sometime in 2012. We’ll keep you posted on further details.
