
When we brought you the news of Sun Kil Moon’s new album Among The Leaves (due out May 29th on Caldo Verde Records) we also brought you a video of a live performance by Mark Kozelek of the song “Sunshine in Chicago,” but today Pitchfork brings us the studio and we can hear all subtleties in the song that weren’t present in that performance. Tight harmonies and lovely use of bells take “Sunshine in Chicago” from a merely good song to a rather great one, and show a little bit of the “playful” side of Sun Kil Moon that we’ve been promised on this album.
