Chances are, you’re already a Alycia Bella fan, you just don’t know it. She’s been behind songs by everyone from Justin Timberlake to The-Dream. No doubt you’ve heard her on Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange, the voice speaking on “End”, as well as the star of the video for “Novacane”.

All the while, she’s been suffering in relative silence. With her new work, she’s seeking to deal with her own trauma and help listeners engage and deal with their own.

As far as introductions go, “Cue the Sun”, needless to say, lets in the light. With a perfect companion in eternally underrated Compton rapper Boogie, the track makes for a late summer offering so perfect that it’s hard not to wish it had arrived during a season less depressingly restricted.

Regardless, you’ll find yourself getting lost in the track’s (literally) buoyant visuals, something like The Truman Show meets idyllic romance. Check it out below and stay tuned for more from Bella soon.
