Two Ryan Adams archive albums coming this fall, new solo LP in 2011

Encouraging news for Ryan Adams fans as the notoriously erratic and prolific song writer unveils plans for several new releases this year and next through his facebook page. This comes after he decided to take some time off in 2009 (although he released a metal album Orion earlier in 2010). Adams himself left a status update that had quite a lot of juicy details in it, the full post read as follows:

UPDATE; I’ve been working on a second batch of tunes. both sessions ( NYC and LA ) sound super cool but I feel like there is even more. still working… I imagine the new solo LP will be ready next year.
To anyone asking about III/IV and Blackhole- they are almost out of the oven. You will have a chance to get them this Fall. There will not be staggered pressings. Digital AND vinyl AND c.d…same way you get the rest of your music from bands… not limited copies… Pax Am is working with a rad distribution company and everyone will be taken care of. I’m happy. Now back to work…
Much Love, the DRA

For those not in the know III/IV is an album recorded with The Cardinals and Blackhole is a solo effort. Both albums have been kicking around in the background (as well as dozens of other rumoured recordings) and it’s great that they will finally see the light of day.

This “super cool” new release sounds promising too, let’s just hope that it is significantly better than Cardinology.
