Under his solo moniker Blanck Mass Fuck Buttons’ Benjamin Power continues the exploration of techno he began with last year’s White Math 7″ on “Hellion Earth,” which the artist posted to Soundcloud back in December. It’s a far cry from the new age drone he put out on his self-titled debut, but his synths sound as ice cold as ever. Power’s techno doesn’t follow traditional developmental arcs; instead, they seem to stretch with climax, resulting in a cumulatively rich listen. At this rate, it wouldn’t surprise me to see his next full-length come out on Kompakt.
