The long-awaited Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty from OutKast’s Big Boi is close at hand. It’s been given an official release date of July 6th and the track list/album art has been revealed. The first single, “Shutterbug,” brings great expectations. People have been loving it and it’s a great mix of classic Big Boi/Outkast style mixed with some of the more eletro-inspired beats that have been taking over recently. Way to keep up with the times, Boi!
There’s some potentially epic collabos on the record as well, including Yelawolf, B.o.B., Too $hort, and Sleepy Brown. Looks like the whole party is here… except for one Mr. Andre Benjamin, aka the other half of Outkast, Andre 3000. Big Boi explains that this is not out of any hostility between the two MCs – quite the opposite in fact. Big Boi talked to GQ magazine about his old label, Jive, “…they didn’t know what to do with it. So I moved it over to Def Jam. And now Jive is trying to block Dre from being on my record.” Frustrating as it is to be denied a little Outkast on the album, a few tracks have gotten “leaked” (wink wink) from Big Boi and Dre.
