Shygirl displays dominance on the Arca-produced “Come For Me”

Shygirl has followed up recent single “Firefly” by dropping of a second taster of her forthcoming debut album, a single called “Come For Me”. This one finds the London-based talent displaying her vocal and emotional prowess over an Arca-assisted beat.

The Arca hallmarks are there in the breathing atmospherics and unpredictable beat, but Shygirl does not stutter or stumble as she expands her aura over the unusual arrangement. It’s an overtly sexual song lyrically, especially in the chorus where she intones “Come when you’re called / Be easy if I take the lead”, but sonically its full of unsettling sounds and asides that suggest she’s looking for something otherworldly. Overall, “Come For Me” subverts the moniker Shygirl and shows a woman completely dominant, inviting us into her unique world – if we think we can handle it.

Listen to “Come For Me” below or listen on streaming platforms.

Shygirl’s debut album Nymph will be out on September 30 through Because Music (pre-order/save). You can find her on Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Instagram.
