Neru Thee Fourth Fugee shows off her own workout plan on “The Count”

Rising Baltimore artist and rapper Neru Thee Fourth Fugee has dropped a new track called “The Count”, a departure from the cosmic meditations of her fantastic 2020 LP The Almanac (which you can buy here). “The Count” is her own answer to Kanye West’s classic track “The New Workout Plan”. The founder of multi-disciplinary artist community AstroKnot Collective describes the project as a fun and colorful sequel to “End Daze”, which features BbyMutha.

“This is the second single released from my upcoming EP planned to drop later this year. I enjoyed recreating this concept while adding my own twist to this classic,” Neru says of the track. “Kanye has always left an impression on me between his innovative rap style and challenging the status quo. My favorite song and video combination from Kanye is “The New Workout Plan” because of the overall concept, special guests and extended visuals to accompany the song. It really inspired me when i was coming up. My favorite album from him is 808s and heartbreaks. I believe “The Count” is a great ode to the original classic.”
