When Mac DeMarco announced the release of his second effort of the year on Captured Tracks (appropriately titled 2) we were treated a first taste of the record in “My Kind of Woman.” The slowly crooned strains encapsulated all that DeMarco was about, and today we’re treated with a sort of flip side. Though still reliant on the spry lead guitar lines, “Freaking Out The Neighborhood” is more tense, more insistent, and generally allows DeMarco to let loose in a way that “My Kind of Woman” didn’t. Check out this new track below, as well as a few tour dates. We recently caught him live at Death by Audio in Brooklyn, and we’d heavily recommend you do the same.

2 is out October 16th on Captured Tracks.
