LIONSTORM ft. Grove share the boisterous genre-mashing “Hey Mama”

Rap provocateurs LIONSTORM are steadily releasing party banger after party banger this year, each one with a strong emphasis on fresh collaborations. For their latest anthem “Hey Mama”, the duo of Vuige Muis and Skerrie Sterrie return the favor of enlisting Grove, after the latter had them appear on “KINGPIN”, a track off of the EP P*W*R//PL*Y

“Hey Mama” is a reliably boisterous, genre-mashing affair, fuelled by a jagged breakbeat pulse. The three artists recorded the track in London, inspired by a shared fascination with the objectifying of older women as so called MILFs. They wanted to take this stereotype and pay a lesbian hommage to older women, adding a new voice to the discourse. The conversation got started over a shared love for Jennifer Coolidge.

“This was such an inspiring playful collab,” LIONSTORM say about “Hey Mama”. “Sometimes you get into the studio and the stars are just aligned. Everytime someone had an idea, another one just kept coming and we built it together from there like this track was meant to happen. Super excited to be able to share it with everyone now.”
