Flying Lotus to release new album in April

Flying Lotus is completely ridiculous. That’s not even meant as an insult, but rather a compliment directed toward his work ethic and productivity. He has recently been busy heading his label, Brainfeeder, which features artists such as The Gaslamp Killer, Daedelus, and Ras G. In the last month of 2009, he released his Lil Wayne remixes and even contributed a particularly scary-sounding remix of Gucci Mane’s “Photoshoot” to the Adult Swim ATL RMX album. Stones Throw Records recently announced that Flying Lotus will be contributing to their new 10″ EP series The Do-Over, named after the Los Angeles-based summertime party. Oh, and we can’t forget that impeccable mix of Flying Lotus material that was released very recently, “A Decade of Flying Lotus,” mixed by The Gaslamp Killer. It almost seems as though FlyLo is too busy to produce a full-length successor to 2008’s jungle beat-heavy Los Angeles.

Lay any doubts to rest, because on April 20th, we can expect the next LP from Flying Lotus called Cosmogramma to be released with the legendary Warp Records (4/20? Oh, FlyLo and Warp, you sly dogs. Surely that was intentional…). There is not a lot of info yet, but he says that he “can’t wait” for us to hear it. We can’t wait either, FlyLo.
