Comme des Garcons unveils exorbitant Beatles-themed sneaker

Remember trying to convince your parents to buy you that $40 designer t-shirt and how they’d always respond by saying that the same shirt, minus whatever stupid logo was on it, could be had for about $3? Well, this story is basically the same thing.

Comme des Garçons, a fancy-schmancy fashion label, has just released a sneaker to honor The Beatles. Sounds cool so far, right? Maybe so, until you discover that the sneakers — which you can see in vivid detail below — sell for $295.20. That’s not a typo, folks. A pair of plain white shoes with an apple, some standard-issue text, and a vague similarity to the sneakers worn by John Lennon on the band’s famous Abbey Road album cover will cost you nearly 300 bones.

That $40 t-shirt with the little Nike swoosh on the front seems like a bargain right about now, huh?
