Arcade Fire to donate $1m to Haiti, but only if you do too

In an interesting and generous deal to their fans and Haiti, indie rock band Arcade Fire promises to donate $1 million in Canadian money (£640,000) to Haiti if their fans can match that amount as well.

The group announced this at their Montreal concert on July 12, which was exactly six months since the earthquake in Haiti. In collaboration with the non-profit organization Kanpe to help families in Haiti, Win Bulter and crew stated that they will match the public’s $5 donations who text 30333 for up to $1 million dollars. This is an especially important cause for Arcade Fire co-founder Régine Chassagne, who has a Haitian upbringing.
