This morning, Animal Collective’s “official site” was updated. If you go to www.myanimalhome.net, you would get a bunch of screeching from a mechanical fish (made by Nate Young of Wolf Eyes, apparently), and the words “Merriweather Post Pavilion”, “Animal Collective”, and “January”. Now really guys, what the hell is going on? By the way, that background image with the reggae colors is beautiful. This seems almost Strawberry Jam like in terms of artwork, but with black instead of white.
Guesses for what this is include:
-New album in January entitled Merriweather Post Pavilion
-That movie project they were working on. However, this was supposedly through another company, not Domino.
-The almost legendary live box set. However, that’s on Catsup Plate, and this is on Domino.
-They’re playing a show at Merriweather. Which would be their largest ever.
and the best one I heard:
-They open for Phish at Merriweather in January.
All I know is Domino needs to hook us up now
