Amy Winehouse’s New Songs Rejected by Label

amy winehouse

Amy Winehouse has been in the Caribbean starting work on her new album, the follow up to 2006’s multi-platinum selling Back to Black. However after having played some of the demos of her new songs to record label executives she may have to start all over again.

After a few torrid years of widely publicized drug and marital issues Winehouse has jetted out to St. Lucia to get away from it all and continue her music career. It seems that she has been influenced by her surroundings whilst working on her new tracks; apparently switching to a more reggae sounding style. Label representatives are not happy with this sudden change; reportedly stating that they don’t feel it’s the right move for her at this point in her career. They are also wary of the “dark lyrics” that feature in the tracks so far.

We shall have to wait and see what effect this takes on Amy in the upcoming weeks.
