Jack White has accomplished something in his lonesome that his band’s never could: he’s debuted at the top of the Billboard charts. You’d think White Stripes would have managed this feat, but their highest peak was with Icky Thump, which scored a #2 spot. Blunderbuss, on the other hand, reportedly debuted with 138,000 copies sold, besting an ever-present Adele. This sales debut bests all expectations, and sheds a bright light on hopes for a successful, long lasting solo career from Mr. White.
