DJ Khaled is far from the most exciting figure in hip hop, in fact, he’s even among the more annoying DJ’s, a sort of accomplishment in itself. However, whenever he’s working on “his” (he hardly ever actually produces a thing, these days) latest album, it’s of great interest, if only for who he manages to snag to collaborate with.
This time is no different. Firstly, yesterday morning, he revealed a picture of himself in the studio with Kanye West, Yasiin Bey (Mos Def, if you’re still not used to the change), Hit Boy, Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, and Fat Joe. That’s quite a gathering.
And as if that weren’t enough, late that evening he displayed another posse, again with Kanye, Joe, and Hit Boy, but with the added power of A$AP Rocky and Diplo.
Now that’s a full house. There’s no official word, but seeing as the pictures came from Khaled (and the fact that he’s involved at all…) strongly suggest these recordings are for him. Stay tuned as details begin to emerge on Khaled’s approaching album, it surely looks to boast some heat amidst his high pitch squeals.
