After years of patient waiting it appears that White Stripes fans, and rock fans in general, are finally going to get an album they’ve been patiently expecting: the Jack White solo album.
Entitled Blunderbuss, White will put out his first full album as a solo artist on April 24th (23rd in Europe) thorugh Third Man Recordings/XL. Details aside from that are scarce, but Jack White says of the album that it’s:
“an album I couldn’t have released until now. I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name. These songs were written from scratch, had nothing to do with anyone or anything else but my own expression, my own colors on my own canvas.”
The first single from the album is called “Love Interruption” and will be put on iTunes at midnight tonight along with a non-album b-side called “Machine Gun Silhouette.” However, if you can’t wait to hear that long to hear the song, it will be streaming very soon at the new website set up to promote this record: jackwhiteIII.com.
If you still can’t even wait that long then you can head to the Third Man Vault and sign up now to hear it. EDIT: The press release is misleading; it appears signing up for The Vault is not enough, you must pay for a premium account to hear “Love Interruption” now. Which you can do, but it will be streaming for free in the next 30 minutes right below!
More details on the album as we get them.
