Talk of a Stone Roses reunion has been simmering for the past several months and now, at last, those rumors have culminated in this morning’s announcement that the Manchester four-piece are, in fact, getting the band back together.
On June 29 and 30, the band will play their home city’s Heaton Park, a prelude to a full 2012 world tour. According to their official website — which has full reunion details — “the band have already been into a rehearsal studio to start work on the set-list,” which is made extra important because of this bit of news: the world tour will be backed in part by material from a brand new album.
The Stone Roses join Mazzy Star as bands who’ve recently decided to give it another go after 15 years on the shelf.
