In the universe of pointless things this has to be one of the most pointless. Coca-Cola have announced that they will be releasing a limited edition of their famous soda that is silver and gold to emulate the iconic helmets of the french dance duo Daft Punk.
The website listed on the bottles seen in the picture above http://daftcoke.com is not yet live, but I’m dying to see what exactly this collaboration has in store. I can’t imagine that Coke is doing this to try to buy their way into a new market because in all honesty, which market are they not already huge in? From Daft Punk’s perspective this isn’t likely to win them any new fans since the packaging only really appeals to people who have already heard of them.
Hypebeast reports that Daft Coke will have a limited run beginning next month and will be available in a special collectors’ edition package too. No word yet as to whether there will be any kind of special “Daft Punk flavour” added.
