The longtime musical couple of Jenny Lewis (of Rilo Kiley) and Johnathan Rice have combined creative forces to form the new aptly-named project called Jenny and Johnny. Over the past few years, Rice had become a contributing band member to Lewis’s solo act, most notably heard on the 2008 Jenny Lewis cut “Carpetbaggers.” Now that they are officially working together, Jenny and Johnny have wasted no time making plans, announcing details about their debut album, releasing a single and scheduling a U.S. tour.
According to their website, Jenny and Johnny’s first release I’m Having Fun Now will be in stores on August 31. Additionally, the two have made their first single “Scissor Runner” available for a free download in exchange for an email address. The duo will also be touring across the United States throughout September and early October. Dates can be seen below.
