NYC band Lip Critic will release a new album called Theft World on 1 May through Partisan. Along with the announcement, they have shared the lead single and video “Legs In A Snare”.
The track finds frontman Bret Kaser entangled in a state of psychological torment, wondering “Am I still the one you want?” As Lip Critic provide off-the-wall electro-pop stylings, he continues to spiral – physically buckling, pleading for clarity, wondering how long he can go on. The sonic soundscape seems to mirror his deteriorating state, with staticky guitar and doo-wop atmospherics giving way to pulsating bass and chunky punk riffs as he screams his way into mania. It’s a satisyfing and sumptuous shapeshifter of a track.
