Nicaraguan-Canadian producer and composer, Mas Aya (aka Brandon Valdivia) has been building to this moment for some time. Having worked with the likes of U.S. Girls, Laraaji, and more, he’s now prepared to release by far his most visible project to date.
Máscarasis due out September 24th, and to prepare us for that incoming bliss, he’s shared his collaboration with none other than Grammy-nominee and Polaris Prize winner Lido Pimienta. “Tiempo Ahora” is a patient, slow burn of gradual ecstasy, with Aya layering the sound with wind-based instruments, organic sounds, and his signature addictive percussion, with Pimienta herself entering patiently, ultimately letting her soothing, mysterious vocals coast gracefully over the delicate sonic backdrop.
