2011 GRAMMY nominations announced: Bon Iver, Radiohead, Kanye, and more

In case you haven’t been on Twitter in the last couple hours, the GRAMMY award nominations for the 2012 ceremony have been announced, and, as far as we’re concerned, the biggest news is that Kanye West did NOT pick up an Album Of The Year nod for his landmark My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. I guess it was just too dark for GRAMMY voters.

Anyway, the big winner on this side of the blogosphere was Bon Iver, who picked up nods for Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year for his beautiful “Holocene.” He will also fight in the Best New Artist category, though he is hardly a new artist by most people’s standards. Other artists we like around here who got some recognition include Cut Copy in the Best Dance Album category, Fleet Foxes in the Best Folk Album category, Radiohead and The Decemberists in multiple spots, and Kanye West, who actually leads all nominations with seven, for both his solo work and his record with Jay-Z. Below we have the nominations in some of the major categories and you can see them all here. The awards will be held on February 12th.
