Last week we brought you the news that Cloud Nothings would be releasing their sophomore record Attack On Memory through Carpark on January 24th. That still seems like a little too far away for our liking, so thankfully the opening track “No Future, No Past” is being given away as a free download.
“No Future, No Past” is new territory for Cloud Nothings as they have created a song that is over a minute longer than anything on their debut album, and rather than going straight for the pop rock, they go for a slow-building rasping rocker. Even more notable is Dylan Baldi’s voice, once a helium-high beacon of fun is found here growling along to the guitars. Perhaps he’s been listening to the Nevermind reissue quite a bit.
