With our first taste of M. Ward’s new album A Wasteland Companion we got the hushed, subtle number “The First Time I Ran Away.” Our second bite at it gives us a more upbeat and straightforward song called “Primitive Girl.” While not containing the breathtaking beauty of “The First Time I Ran Away” the song is still charming as heck.

A Wasteland Companion comes out through Merge on April 10th.
