Listen: Andrew Bird – “Pulaski at Night”

Pulaski

It’s been a while since we’ve heard any official releases from the ever-looptastic Andrew Bird (he released two EPs and his last album Break It Yourself last year), but as ever, he’s been keeping himself busy with plenty of live shows, sound installations, and recording. The result of one such recording session from a couple of weeks ago is “Pulaski At Night” which is the lead track to forthcoming new EP featuring six additional instrumental tracks. I Want to See Pulaski at Night is out digitally November 12th in North America and out November 19th everywhere else. You can listen to “Pulaski At Night” below, which brings together plenty of different sounds from Bird’s recent musical past, such as the spiky violins solo, feverish percussion, and tense pizzicato. Actually, written down, that sounds like any Andrew Bird track from the past decade. Either way, it’s a rather wonderful five minutes. Listen below.
