Tia Wood could be our next Sabrina on “Sky High”

If you’re waiting for the next Sabrina Carpenter or Remi Wolf to arrive, look no further than Canadian artist Tia Wood. She has a new single called “Sky High” that has the feel-good vibe of Sabrina’s “Espresso” – and Tia’s debut EP Pretty Red Bird is chockful of pop perfection.

Wood’s career ascent is as improbable as that of k.d. lang, who also grew up in Alberta. Tia was raised in the indigenous community of Saddle Creek – and the EP title is what her family called her in those formative days.

Although Wood is now based in L.A., there’s a Saddle Creek spaciousness and peace in her voice. Her previous single “Dirt Roads” is an homage to her hometown.

“This project celebrates who I am as a young, proudly Indigenous woman, making music with meaning and a purpose,” says Tia. “I’m so, so proud of what I’ve accomplished here, and I can’t wait to share it with the world.”
