On the strength of last years moody, sexual, darkish, catchy and highly successful Debut Album, the British trio (the keyboardist has since left the band) The XX have emerged as one of the most successful bands in indie music. Since releasing that album, the band has been touring regularly including a recent performance at Bonnaroo, which you can stream in full over at NPR.
The XX have recently released the dates for their extensive Fall tour, which adds four months of their black and white, crestfallen, subdued, moody shows. The majority of the dates are in Europe, but their also are a string of North American dates. This English band has also announced to its fans on this side of the pond that this could be “the last chance to see the band play for quite a while” so fans of the band should head over here and scoop tickets ASAP.
The dates in North America (with the exception of the gig on October 10th on Austin City Limits) will be opened by the fantastic L.A. based Warpaint. I recently had the chance to had the chance to see Warpaint perform live, and the four women that comprise the band certainly do not disappoint.
