The Smashing Pumpkins reach deal with EMI, Oceania due out June 19th

After a long wait, The Smashing Pumpkin’s new album Oceania is finally due for release on June 19th through a deal with EMI Label Services/Caroline Distribution. Oceania is part of the band’s (still ongoing) 44-song concept album Teargarden by Kaleidyscope. Oceania comprises 13 songs and runs just over an hour.

The band has been working with EMI since 1991, and just last year the label reissued many of the band’s works. Here’s what EVP/GM Mike Harris of the label said about the release:

“We are thrilled to extend the long-term partnership between The Smashing Pumpkins and EMI with the release of Oceania. Everybody at EMI Label Services is looking forward to working closely with Billy and the band to help them deliver their vision and their music to fans around the world.”
