Superorganism have taken their time following up their 2018 self-titled debut, careful to continue to perfect their unique, brash aesthetic.
That wait is finally just about over, as they’ve announced their proper sophomore album, the perfectly titled World Wide Pop, due out July 15th.
To mark the occasion they’ve shared the project’s lead single, the earnest “Teenager”, featuring none other than CHAI & Pi Ja Ma. The track finds the collaborators clinging to the raw emotions of its titular developmental period, insisting that they’ll never move beyond just such a genuine state. The track also brings in producer Stuart Price, who’s worked with the likes of Madonna and The Killers, who helps Superorganism expand towards the bright, widescreen sound which they’ve always sought.
The goofy video features actor and comedian Brian Jordan Alvarez (Will and Grace) who brings his joyous dancing antics to the kaleidoscopic visual world that Superorganism create for the track. Check it out below or find the song on streaming platforms.
World Wide Pop comes out on July 15 through Domino (pre-order/save). Catch Superorganism on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
