The legendary Sleater-Kinney have made an unexpectedly quick return after their 2019 album The Center Won’t Hold, today announcing a new album called Path of Wellness, which will come out on June 11 through Mom + Pop. Provoked by the pandemic, Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein hunkered down in their Portland studio to write and record, bringing in some local musicians to help flesh it out. It’s also their first album they’ve self-produced.
The first taste of Path of Wellness is “Worry With You”, a song that finds the core duo taking stock of all the troubles in the world and determining to weather it together. Maintaining the slick pop sound of their previous album, it’s a glistening and lovable ode to undying friendship, with Carrie taking the lead – both vocally and with her guitar acrobatics.
The video for “Worry With You”, directed by Alberta Poon and stars Fabi Reyna and Megan Watson – watch it below or listen to the song on streaming platforms.
