Singer/songwriter Stephanie Poetri shares bruised, openhearted new EP, oh to be in love

Indonesian-American singer/songwriter Stephanie Poetri has been gradually, but assuredly, building an audience through her immediately relatable, heartfelt brand of Alt-pop. Having released her debut EP, AM:PM, just over a year ago, she’s following it up her proper sophomore release, oh to be in love, out today via 88rising.

Largely free of the hand wringing that often comes hand in hand with tales of romance, the EP tells a story of falling in love with wide eyes and an open heart. It effortlessly weaves nostalgia with the present, ambitious and endlessly accessible all at once.

Ranging from the pure elation of “Honeymoon” to the poignant delicacy of “Please Don’t Die Before I Do”, Poetri explores a pure love from all angles. Check out oh to be in love below.

She has also released a video for the EP’s opener “Bad Haircut” with JKVE.
