Show Me The Body lament the state of the world on “Loose Talk”

NYC trio Show Me The Body have come thundering back with “Loose Talk”, their first new music since last year’s Survive EP and a taster of more to come later this year.

“Loose Talk” begins with Julian Cashwan-Pratt drawling over his ragged banjo, which echoes out into space as he spits about violence and “the games they play that they say will make you a man”. It’s a primer for the slow explosion that occurs across the rest of the track, SMTB grinding and gnashing their way slowly to life, like a beast waking from a restless sleep. Cashwan-Pratt continues to spit about the “loose talking” he observes, stirring the cauldron of discontent that’s amplified by his bandmates’ measured but heavy playing. Caustic and magnetic, “Loose Talk” is a reminder that SMTB are one of the finest politically pointed bands we have in our current punk ecosystem.

The video for “Loose Talk” was directed by Julian Platt; watch it below or find the song on streaming services.

“Loose Talk” is out on Loma Vista. You can find Show Me The Body on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
